The fireworks were obscured by the fog (as usual), Lisa had recently slipped in some mud (ruining a new pair of converse shoes!) and Bryan was wearing a knit hat. Lisa wondered who this cute, bespectacled stranger was, and almost immediately after, their mutual friends became matchmakers. A few awkward parties later, Lisa finally asked Bryan to get some coffee, but they ended up going to The Crab House instead.
In 2010, Bryan moved to an apartment up the street from Lisa, and the two became inseparable. Eventually they moved to Oakland together and bought an adorable little house not far from friends. Soon after, they adopted two cats named Buster and Chloe, and in 2012 Lisa began working as a copywriter at an Oakland publishing company.
In August of 2012, the two took a day trip to Monterrey, California to visit the local aquarium. There, in front of a large (really, really large) fish tank, Bryan proposed. Spoiler alert—Lisa said yes!
